The Europe Direct NCA centre hosted a conference on Europe and space at the Côte d’Azur Observatory. The event was a unique opportunity for students from the University of the Côte d’Azur, as well as for technicians and professionals in the field, to attend technical presentations and gain valuable insights into EU space programs and their management.

The two speakers are responding to the Q&A session

The first presentation, by Patrick Michel, an astrophysicist at the Côte d’Azur Observatory, explored the theme of “Europe in Space: Exploring and Deflecting Asteroids to Protect the Earth”. This was followed by Fabienne Daveran, a member of the National Contact Point for Horizon Europe’s Space Cluster, who shed light on various aspects related to the research and innovation community within European programs.
